I constantly question my style, and every time I write about statement pieces and stand-out products, I become closer to understanding my personal fashion choices. I put clothing together, but don’t necessarily consider why I choose an item or why I pair ‘piece A‘ with ‘piece B‘. The more I write personal style posts, the more I realize that most of my closet is composed of statement pieces, entitled from it’s accentuated use of colour, texture, and print.
I search for items that differ from the norm; they have distinct qualities that stand out from the rest of my closet. Basics are nil to none and colour is expected. Texture is essential and print is a neutral. That being said, categorizing my style will continue to be a recurring question, but I do know what I look for in an outfit and I feel much more confident in my shopping choices.
Like this two-piece for instance, while browsing the Chictopia Marketplace, I came across this distinctly beautiful suit by Choies. Because of the asymmetrical detailing, panelled coloring, and unique graphic, the outfit checks off my top requirements; I couldn’t be more pleased with the look. Oh, and the organza skirt has built in shorts–genius!
